CAPE TOWN CITY & TABLE MOUNTAIN TOUR – Half Day

HALF DAY WALK TO FREEDOM TOUR
“No easy road to freedom” was a central theme in most of the Mass Democratic Movement’s campaigns, from the early days through to the late 1980s. Any understanding of present day conditions in South Africa is greatly enhanced by looking at past injustice, the legacy of the struggle and the promise of reconstruction and development initiatives under way at present. Freedom has not come easy.

CAPE WINELANDS TOUR
This delightful drive winds its way to the heart of the Cape Winelands, through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Head off to wine country via the N2 to the heart of South Africa’s wine industry, Stellenbosch, boasting great beauty and culture that is steeped in South African history. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings.

FULL DAY CAPE POINT & PENINSULA TOUR
This is an awe-inspiring tour to the towering headland known as Cape Point. Magnificent beaches, breathtaking views, historic and picturesque coastal villages are to be seen along the way. The Cape Peninsula is one of the world’s most scenic areas and stretches from the City centre to Cape Point.

FULL DAY SAFARI
You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the Game Reserve which is a 2.5 hr drive via vineyards, orchards and magnificent scenery. Upon arrival at the reserve you are welcomed with a chilled drink before being ushered through to the restaurant for a buffet breakfast.
Thereafter depart on a 2 – 3 hour open vehicle game drive through the reserve. Having been proclaimed a Nature Reserve in 1985, the ‘veld’ (terrain) is in pristine condition, consisting of Renoster veld, Mountain Fynbos and succulent vegetation types found in 3 beautiful valleys. Situated in the Karoo with its wide open spaces, the 4,500-hectare reserve has a natural wetland and protected by majestic mountains and valleys, which makes for varied and ideal game viewing.
On your drive you may see lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, as well as giraffe and hippo. Large herds of game are found on the Reserve such as Black Wildebeest, Burchell’s Zebra, Springbok, Gemsbok, Steenbok, Blesbok, Bat Eared Fox, Ostriches, Klip Springer, Duiker, Greybuck, Baboon, Black Backed Jackal, Eland, Red Hartebeest.
The natural wetland is home to 172 species of birds and is also home to several breeding pairs of the rare and endangered black eagle, after which the reserve has been named.
Following the game drive, you will have the opportunity to visit the ARC rehabilitation centre. Here you will learn a bit more about the rescue and rehabilitation efforts the reserve plays in the area.
After a well-deserved buffet lunch at the lodge’s main restaurant, you enjoy some time at leisure before starting your journey back to Cape Town.

Garden Route Classic Tour ex Cape Town – 4 Days
This lovely tour takes you from Cape Town up to the Eastern Cape through the beautiful and winding Garden Route with its magnificent scenery and quaint and charming towns. The tour lasts four days and includes a stop at Oudtshoorn – the ‘feather capital’ of the world where you will visit a working ostrich farm for a guided tour.
